The Golden Family has chosen the dude and guest ranch style of living for over a quarter of a century. In 1992, they opened up their home and property to share it as a vacation resort for those who want to experience this special life style. They are continuing to expand their services and amenities because they feel they can only get better.
Golden Hills Resort has over 250 miles of trails on 5,100 acres of privately owned picturesque ranch land with crystal clear streams, forests, massive bluffs, caves, valleys and wide open ranges that offer riding enjoyment at all levels. Breathtaking scenery and spectacular wildlife make the trail rides and the ranch the most memorable. Their emphasis in horsemanship goes beyond the norm, offering horse clinics such as On Target Training with Shawna and Vinton Karrasch, Ride with the Stars SUPER CLINICS, Balanced Connection Riding Clinic with Lanie Frick and special guests such as Clinton Anderson and Don West.
Although Golden Hills Resort specializes in horseback riding, they also appeal to the fisherman, the hiker, and the nature lover. Explore caves, join in a game of horseshoes, relax with a good book or listen to some of the folklore of the area. Legend has it that Jesse James rode through this area so with a little imagination you can picture the life he lived. Or you can do some exploring, possibly finding remnants from the Native American Indian tribe that once settled here.
Aside from horse clinics, horse trade shows and special guests, you can take part in a unique bi-yearly reenactment of the 1825-1840’s era by taking part in the Mountain Man Rendezvous - a different vacation experience for sure!
