Overview

One of the most relaxing and beautiful spots to spend a dude ranch vacation lies in a valley surrounded by lush meadows and over one million acres of national forest complete with cool running streams, awesome sunrises, fish laden lakes, snow-capped mountains and clean fresh air. This lovely vacation mecca is called Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch.

On your arrival at Greenhorn Creek, you are immediately put at ease by the warm friendly greeting of the ranch hands. From that time on, things just keep getting better. You will find the guests staying at the ranch are just as friendly. There is something for everyone, young, old and in-between.

Your ranch vacation should be the adventure of a lifetime, and that is exactly what your stay at Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch will be: horseback riding, hiking, fishing, dancing, and great socializing are just some of the activities you can expect at Greenhorn Ranch. Other activities include boating, mountain biking, golf, snowmobiling and skiing.

Horseback riding is one of the ranch’s main activities. After all, what would a western vacation be like without horses? Each of the ranch’s horses are hand picked to make sure that they are perfect for trail rides, and each one has their own unique personality. Each guest will be assigned a horse based on riding ability. And just in case you discover no riding ability (a literal "Greenhorn") the ranch’s wranglers are the best at teaching city slickers how to sit in the saddle.

The ranch is truly the perfect western backdrop for horseback riding. You can count on two rides daily and the popular scenic all-day ride up to the old "Glory Bee Mine". During the rides you will see some of the most spectacular scenery in Northern California, abundant with plant and wildlife. Bring your camera as this will be an experience you'll want to remember forever.

Trail rides feature several cookouts along the way, a "Breakfast Cookout", a "Lunch Cookout" and a "Dinner Cookout". There’s nothing better than the smell of steaks sizzling on the grill of an open flame, sitting round the campfire near a slow trickling brook while the wind softly whistles through the tall pines.

Greenhorn is considered one of the finest guest ranches in the entire west. It is not your dress up, sophisticated type of guest ranch; it is a relaxing, fun type of ranch. Most of Greenhorn’s guests have been coming here for years.

Where else can you enjoy the Best-in-the-West riding, complete with lessons, 100 lakes, 1,000 miles of streams, 1,000,000 acres of national forest and mountains, down home hospitality, barbecues, hayrides, three hearty meals a day and modern cozy accommodations?

Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch is a great place to get away from it all. It’s one of the best vacation buys you will ever find and the perfect spot for an unforgettable, adventure-filled week spent in the Sierra Nevada Mountains... an adventure and experience that will change your life.
