Overview
The Nine Quarter Circle Ranch at 7,000 feet is surrounded by national forests containing a million acres of primitive wilderness. This Montana dude ranch provides a mixed pattern of horseback riding and a select variety of unspoiled trout waters. The ranch is located in the high country of the Montana Rockies alongside a swift mountain stream called the Taylor Fork of the Gallatin River. It is nestled amongst lodge pole pines overlooking the northwest corner of Yellowstone Park on the east slope of the Continental Divide. The ranch history dates back to the 1800s, when it was first homesteaded.
This is the setting for a perfect ranch vacation, where you rough it in comfort and leave the rest of the world behind. All ranch meals are home cooked, family style... very informal with no dressing up for dinner expected. Several outdoor meals are scheduled each week including a late afternoon ride to dinner. Tables are grouped to match children's age brackets... teenagers with teenagers, and "small fry" at their own table with the baby sitter. Adults are shifted with place markings for social variety. Dinner is served early to the children while Mom and Pop are relaxing and enjoying Happy Hour in the rustic lounge on the lower level. The ranch furnishes only ice and mixes (BYOB). You will enjoy the easy, informal atmosphere at Nine Quarter Circle.
The ranch is five miles off the main highway, snuggled in a beautiful valley where the only sounds at night are the cascading waters of the Taylor Fork - and perhaps the howl of a coyote. Here are all the comforts of home with adventure, new experiences, and a completely new way of life, with all the beauty of nature and good healthy, restful relaxation, with unforgettable days and nights.
Throughout the year, but especially in the early summer, the meadows and mountains become Nature's palette when covered with abundant wildflowers. Newborn elk, moose and deer with their mothers are seen almost daily on rides and hikes from the ranch. Late summer and early fall rides provide bugling bull elk collecting their harems against a backdrop of golden Aspen trees.
In September, the ranch is also available for meetings or conferences. With the recreational interests at hand, your attendance and success will be assured.
With over 50 years of Kelsey family dude ranching, the Nine Quarter Circle offers a family oriented, authentic dude ranch vacation. This is an ideal place for you to hold a family reunion so no one is saddled with the cooking and cleaning, and there is plenty for all to do. Ranch activities include daily horseback riding, weekly gymkhanas, all day rides and an overnight pack trip.
All guest accommodations are log cabins with forest furniture and handmade quilts, private bath and wood stoves. Meals are served family style in the ranch’s picturesque lodge.
Amenities offered are daily baby sitting and child supervision, square-dances, movies, hay rides, a private trout pond and a fly fishing instructor at no extra charge. An excellent fly-fishing stream runs though the ranch. The “Blue Ribbons” Gallatin River beckons nearby.
Nine Quarter Circle Ranch invites you to leave all your worries behind and experience the vacation of a lifetime.
