Overview
Effortless excitement, untracked powder and the majesty of the Tetons is waiting for you... Since 1974, High Mountain Heli-Skiing (HMH) has been offering its guests the ultimate deep powder helicopter skiing experience in Jackson Hole. Their 305,000-acre terrain consists of ranges south of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, including all of the Snake River and Palisades Mountain Ranges, and portions of the Hoback, Teton and the Gros Ventre Mountain Ranges.
High Mountain Heli-Skiing flies in groups of six; one guide and five guests. Four groups (20 guests) is the maximum amount for daily operations. A day of heli-skiing consists of six runs, approximately 12,000 to 15,000 total vertical feet, transportation to the pad, and lunch at the Heli Deli. Rental powder skis (Rossignol B4s) are available in High Mountain Heli-Skiing's new shop.
High Mountain Heli-Skiing Guides For over 30 years, High Mountain Heli-Ski guides have been taking skiers to some of the finest powder on the continent. High Mountain Heli-Skiing's staff of professional guides is trained in Outdoor Emergency Care as provided by the National Ski Patrol, CPR, avalanche hazard forecasting and mountain rescue. All are active mountaineers who know the terrain and snow pack intimately. Let the guides with over 30 years of experience show you the adventure of helicopter skiing.
Who Can Heli-Ski? Anyone going heli-skiing should be of an advanced to expert skiing ability, able to make good parallel turns. With the advancement of powder and fat skis, powder skiing experience is not completely necessary. Fat ski rentals (the Rossignol B4) can easily be arranged right in High Mountain Heli-Skiing's shop, and are always encouraged.
Snowboarders are also welcome on heli-ski outings. They should also be of advanced to expert ability, able to hold an edge on a traverse and carry their speed across any flat areas. The guide will always keep you informed of what is to be expected.

Weather delays: You have no obligation in the event of a day cancelled by us due to weather. However, if your reserved day is placed on a “weather delay”, you must remain on call and available to ski until 10:30 am. At that time, if we still can not fly, you will be released to do any other activities you might choose without obligation. If you do not remain on hold and the helicopter flies that day, you will be charged the full amount for the day and no credit will be issued for a no-show.
