Wilderness Horse Camp's Mother/Daughter Weekend is for those mothers and daughters who want to have a short outing together. The young and young at heart will enjoy a weekend of trail riding, home cooked meals, and stories around the campfire in the beautiful Eagle Cap Wilderness area of Northeast Oregon. If you would like to have a three-generation trip, you can invite Grandma also!
Mothers and daughters need to arrive by noon on Friday. After arrival, you will have lunch together and get to know the other campers. After lunch, you will be assigned a horse matching your riding experience, size, and age. The horses you will be riding have been dude horses for many years and are very gentle. After a quick introduction about your day's ride, you will set off on your first day's adventure.
You will ride through forests, along mountain streams, and over mountain passes to arrive at your campsite in time for dinner around the campfire. Saturday morning you will start off with a hearty breakfast and pack yourself a sack lunch before riding most of the day past high mountain lakes and across alpine meadows. The lunch break will be beside a cold, clear stream, and you will have time to rest and relax. Each trip may vary because of weather and trail conditions, but after your day's ride, you will arrive back at camp where dinner will be waiting. On Sunday, mothers and daughters will ride back to base camp, arriving around noon in time for a light lunch. You will then have the afternoon free for your drive home.
Start your trip with a stay at the new Cornucopia Lodge.
