Trailheads entering the Eagle Cap Wilderness from the north are crowded thoroughfares and offer little chance for solitude, but from Cornucopia Wilderness Pack Station in the south, you can travel all day without meeting anyone and camp near a high mountain lake that you will usually have all to yourself. Seven miles from Cornucopia, nestled in a bowl, high in the mountains, sit Pine Lakes, two alpine jewels separated by only a few yards and filled with voracious brook trout that attack almost any lure. Cornucopia Wilderness Pack Station will pack you, your food, and your personal gear to the camp that's already set up and waiting for you. All the necessary camp equipment, the tents, stoves, lanterns, and other essential camping equipment is provided.
Combine with your stay at Cornucopia Lodge at the trail head.
