North Dakota Selects GordonsGuide.com to Market Unique Destinations
Fresno, Calif. (March 25, 2008) - Gordon’s Guide, the leading publisher in adventure and active travel, announced that North Dakota will be launching a display advertising campaign to promote unique tourist destinations and activities on its Web site, www.GordonsGuide.com, in April. The five-month advertising campaign will promote diverse vacation options for people of all ages from serene to extreme.
“We are very excited to be working with Gordon’s Guide to promote North Dakota on-line,” said Kim Schmidt, North Dakota Department of Commerce Tourism Division. “Our online marketing efforts are an extension of new TV and print advertising campaigns aimed at creating a connection between travelers and the North Dakota experience.”
North Dakota offers a wide variety of vacations centering on the state’s history, culture and natural environment. Travelers can choose from rich, learning-based vacations to golfing along the Lewis & Clark Trail, venturing into military history through a visit to Fort Abraham Lincoln, and sailing across Lake Sakakawea, the third largest man-made lake in the United States. Also available are a plethora of outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, fishing, skiing, snowmobiling, wildlife viewing and horseback riding.
North Dakota is one of several states in the region that has selected GordonsGuide.com to be part of its marketing mix. According to founder and CEO Timothy E. Gordon, a greater number of state tourism divisions are realizing that they can leverage the public’s growing interest in experiential travel, which includes adventure and active vacations.
“Adventure travel is the fastest growing segment in travel,” said Gordon. “With 10 million active travelers visiting our Web site annually, GordonsGuide.com is a prime marketing vehicle for tourism organizations seeking to market their destinations.”
Starting this year, North Dakota Tourism's creative will take on an "I am Legendary" theme, which officials say is a natural progression of North Dakota Tourism's "Legendary" brand, first introduced in 2002.
