Red Mountain Hiking Right outside Red Mountain’s back door, red and white Navajo sandstone capped by an overlay of black lava rock makes hiking, biking and photography in Snow Canyon State Park an experience for the senses. The park is an amazing display of desert animal life, botany and geology featuring various rock formations, lava caves and two recent volcanic cones that are found near the head of the canyon. Due to the moderate winter climate of southern Utah the park can be utilized year round.
The core of Red Mountain's outdoor activities is the hiking program. Nowhere else in the continental United States can you find the quantity of trails for hiking that are lead by Red Mountain. Numerous included hiking opportunities are offered on over 40 trails that are led by a staff of over 40 specialized guides. The guides are enthusiastically committed to giving you the best hiking experiences of your lifetime. Red Mountain’s guides are knowledgeable of the diverse trails, support the Leave No Trace Program, and are trained in CPR and basic wilderness first aid.
Red Mountain’s hiking groups are designed to accommodate a variety of fitness levels. Your guide will inform you each morning of the location for the daily hike and the hikes for the remainder of the week.
