Casa Blanca has established itself as one of the world’s finest light tackle fishing lodges. Incomparable location, one of a kind fishery, superb facilities, delectable fare, outstanding equipment and professional staff are only some of the reason why Casa Blanca has become an operation to which all others compare.

The lodge sits on the northern tip of a small coastal island in the western Caribbean called Isla Punta Pajaros. The actual lodge was the former staff quarters for coco plantation workers. Since remodeled, you will find that every room is one with a view. Each room has a different layout to accommodate to ones individual or group’s needs. The lodge also boasts a 100 yard long concrete pier. Under the lights at night you will find cruising tarpon and permit. Some of the best fishing happens right off the pier.

Casa Blanca is the only lodge on Ascension Bay. It is as remote and pristine a location as you will find in this hemisphere. At Casa Blanca you are truly as far from the world and as close to “the way it was” as you will ever be.

Casa Blanca Lodge specializes in light tackle and fly fishing for Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon and Snook.

The reef itself supplies food and shelter to a huge variety of baitfish and small crustaceans which in turn attract larger predators. The reef also protects the shore-side fishery from full ocean swells. The coral heads absorb the brunt of the waves allowing the flats to remain calm even if the reef is being pounded by a storm swell.

There is a WIDE VARIETY of underrated, under fished species in Ascension Bay which will match the skill of the most sophisticated anglers; Barracuda are at the top of the list. They are perhaps the most exciting fish on the flats. They will take a fly or lure; they are big and they fight like hell. In addition to Cuda you will also find Jacks, Shark and Snapper. You should definitely consider pursuing a few of these other exciting species.

The guides at Casa Blanca have been acclaimed as some of the best on the flats. Several of the guides are natives and have grown up on the waters of Ascension Bay. The depth of the guide pools runs deep due to our on-going guide training program. Bob Clouser, Chico Fernandez, and Lefty Kreh have all shared information with the current guides as well as our stock of up-and-coming guide trainees.

The Caribbean is only 100 feet away; all the rooms are seaside. Each room is spacious, well appointed, has remarkable views, air conditioning, tile floors, mahogany shutters and spacious baths. Casa Blanca has 11 seaside rooms wall with air conditioning and can accommodate 22 people comfortably.

In the main lodge you will find a fully stocked bar and an accommodating bartender along with friends, old and new, swapping stories about the day’s fishing. Margaritas are the house specialty, but only a lucky few receive a scorpion garnish. Drinks are moderately priced and guests are welcome to keep an open tab for the week.

After returning from a long day on the flats, reward yourself to a cool drink and enjoy some fresh ceviche or nachos under the palapa. After a shower, make your way to the dining room to enjoy the chef’s daily specialty.

The menu varies from chicken, fresh fish, conch, lobster and of course, steak. The house specialty is fresh Caribbean seafood. You will always find the day’s catch simply and skilfully prepared.
