Day 1: Seville - Check-In & Sightseeing
Seville, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

After you check-in we will meet for an afternoon walking tour of Seville, this glorious, historically rich center of Andalucía. Bike fitting assistance will be provided before and after the tour. In the evening, we will meet for our orientation meeting and welcome dinner.

Day 2: Seville - Constantina
Constantina, Andalusia, Spain

After breakfast, we get on our bikes and ride out of the city using one of its many bike paths, heading north towards the gorgeous National Parks of de la Sierra Norte. After about 20 km of flat terrain, the roads become gradually hilly. We ride through several small villages where you can get the first taste of what a small Andalusian village looks like. On the way to the National Park, we pass orchards, fields, olive groves, cattle farms and cork tree plantations. We eventually arrive to Constantina in the heart of the National Park. We spend the night here in a small hotel on top of the town.

Day 3: Constantina - Cordoba
Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain

The first part of today’s ride takes us through the National Park of Sierra Norte and small charming towns, with some spectacular and breathtaking views of the area. When we get down to the valley of the Rio Guadalquivir, we continue on small rolling roads through some of the many olive groves and sunflower fields. We follow the river making our way to Cordoba, where we cross the local Roman Bridge towards the famous Mezquita Cathedral. Our hotel for the next two nights is located right next to this magnificent architectural jewel that reminds us of the times when Muslims, Christians and Jews lived side by side in tolerance and respect, enriching their city with their cultures and skills.

Day 4: Day Off In Cordoba
Cordoba, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

After breakfast, we visit to the Mezquita Cathedral, after which you have the entire afternoon to explore the narrow, charming streets of this fairy-tale like city of Andalucía and many of the city’s famous patios and courtyards. People take pride in their courtyards and often leave the doors to them open, so everybody can admire these small private gardens in the city. Visit some of the many tapa bars and taste some excellent Spanish wine, do some shopping and/or visit the Arab Spa (Baños Árabes). For dinner, you can choose from many excellent restaurants in the city that serve the best of Andalucian cuisine.

Day 5: Cordoba - Baena
Baena, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

After breakfast, we cross the Roman Bridge again and say our goodbyes to the ancient and, at the same time, modern city of Cordoba. Today, we ride on small curvy and rolling roads through olive groves and sunflower fields. Our destination today is the small town of Baena, famous for its excellent olive oil. We visit the local Museum of Olive Oil. We stay overnight in a beautiful mansion that has been converted to a hotel.

Day 6: Baena – Jaen
Jaen, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

We leave Baena and after riding about 20 km on curvy country roads through yet more olive groves, we join one of the most beautiful Spanish green roads – the Olive Oil Green Bike Path (Vía Verde de Aceite). This bike path was built on a former railroad track and takes us through the hills of the Provincia of Jaén, covered with olive and cork trees. We cross several viaducts with magnificent views of rivers and valleys and ride through former railway tunnels. Eventually, we arrive to the city of Jaén. Jaén is often somewhat overlooked, which is a pity because it is a beautiful city with not only rich architecture and history, but also with great tapas bars and Flamenco tradition.

Day 7: Jaen - Baeza
Baeza, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

After breakfast, we ride once again on small roads and head towards the Renaissance jewel of Baeza. While today’s route is short, it takes us through some dramatic terrain of yet another National Park (Sierra Mágina). A few long climbs are definitely worth the effort, being rewarded by breathtaking views of the mountain range and by several long and smooth downhill rides. Our hotel for tonight is a former palace with a magnificent patio and swimming pool.

Day 8: Baeza - Guadix
Guadix, Andalusia, Spain

Toady’s stage is the longest stage of our trip. For those who do not feel like riding all the millage, our van is available and ready to do some “shuttling”. Flat sections alternate with hilly terrain as we approach the great Sierra Nevada region. The views of this mountain range are truly amazing. Sierra Nevada is the highest mountain range in Spain and has the southernmost ski resorts in Europe. After a long day we finally arrive in Guadix with its beautiful, architecturally rich, and easy to navigate center. However, it is most famous for its “cave homes”. Even today, about 3,000 inhabitants live in these dwellings. Guadix is also known for its excellent tapas.

Day 9: Guadix - Granada
Granada, Andalusia, Spain
Learn More @ www.czechactivetours.com

A relatively short ride with one long climb and about 20 km downhill through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada takes us to the heart of Andalucía – the magnificent city of Granada with its invincible and almost unimaginable Alhambra Palace. Our hotel is located just a short walk from this former seat of Arab, Christian and Jewish rulers. In the afternoon, we enjoy a tour of this “must see” historical wonder before our final dinner.

Day 10: Depart Granada
Granada, Andalusia, Spain
